Zambian artistes Who Missed the Chance to Go International

Zambian musicians are striving and Working hard to earn International recognition and the pressure from Local fans keeps looming. However, there some Top artists who have had to attention and spotlight on the continent but somehow missed the opportunity to be International artists.

  1. JK

Veteran JK has been outstanding artiste and a lenged in the country for sometime despite being mute for the past few years. JK had a Chance to sign alongside “R.Kelly” in the African Unite project. This followed the success of his “Soul Survivor” song and music video which gained positive reception on the Continent. He later featured Yemi Alade on his “Paduze” song but failed to raise the bar high and gain moment later on.

  1. Macky 2

HipHop artiste “Macky 2” also had the Chance to blow as an international mainstream artiste. He gained much of Popularity and Attention on he continent after he Featured in “Big Brother Africa The chase” where he won third position. Since he presented himself as an artiste from Zambia and reached the Point of spitting an accapela verse in the House, Many Africans were waiting for what he could offer as an artiste after “Big Brother Africa” season. Macky 2 even had a chance to sign with “D’Banji” label but surprisingly, he rejected the offer.

  1. Mic Burner

While some may argue that he is already International, Mic Burners fanbase can explain he is still a Local Zambian artiste. The Dancehall rapper’s Come Up video for the single “Though of You” had numerous views on the Internet. However, he decided to go mute for sometime after that successful Video which got Plays on International TV Stations like Trace TV, MTV Base etc. His lack of consistency later on costed him.
