The Zambian U-20 Football has issued an apologetic statement through their Wing Defender Prosper Chiluya following their loss to Italy. The 3-2 defeat has ended them into not qualifying to the Semifinals of the ongoing Under 20 World Cup in South Korea.

The Under 20 African Champions have however showed exceptional skill during the entire tournament as they managed to trounce many Opponents they faced. Below is the stamen issued by Prosper Chiluya on his Facebook page;

Sorry to everyone that has been supporting us for letting you down today. We tried our best but unfortuntely it was not enough. It hurts that we’re not progressing to the semi final but sadly this is what happens in football. The U20 WORLD CUP has been a great experience that we are happy to have been part of. The world of football knows who Zambia is once again. We will still hold our heads high as #AfricanChamps.

Thanks once again for ALL THE SUPPORT!

Congratulations to Italy on the win and I’m wishing all the remaining teams in the tournament the best.
