On the 29th of July 2017,UNZA crowned a new princess, there were ten contestants however twenty year old Lisa Chisanga came out as winner.
This year’s pageant was being held under the theme “promoting intellect, humility and beauty’. The ladies underwent some mentorship and training so as to rebrand the pageant.
Lisa started modeling at the age of 11 after which she won some high school pageants, however this was her first big pageant. She is in her second year pursuing a degree in Education administration and management at the university.
Her roles among others include advocating for positive change in the UNZA community, being a role model and advocating for environmental sustainability. Prices she won include K2000, a room in school and a paid for trip to miss world. She said she is in the process of forming a foundation which will promote girl child education and teach them on sexual and reproductive health.
Lisa acknowledged her friends and family for the support they gave her, she said it wasn’t easy but they encouraged throughout.
Further her modeling agency MK modeling academy said Lisa has so much potential and she will definitely deliver to the task she has been given.
