Undoubtedly one of Zambias biggest name on the music scene, Marky 2 has fired shots threatening to sue any websites that uploads his music videos on their channels instead of sharing.
He disclosed this in a video he posted on IGTV stating that he has too much time available and won’t hesitate suing anyone re-uploading his music videos.
This is all in an effort to get the numbers to his YouTube channel to rise. Macky 2 further added that due to no shows because of the pandemic he might use this as a means to make extra income. He however advised entertainment websites to share the link of his channel ‘Macky2 music’ instead of downloading the videos.
With the gradual transition to digitalisation ,and artistes profiting from streams it’s becoming important to have a lot of views with artistes asking fans to subscribe to their YouTube channels.
A monetized YouTube channel gets for 1 million views — between $2,000 and $40,000 (4 creators)
Some of the notable Zambian artistes with over a million views include Rich Bizzy,
Roberto , Afunika , Drimz Bashi Lota ,Jay Rox ,Yo Maps , Mampi and
Macky 2 , with Kay Figo holding the record for the most views as her song “
Kanyelele ” got 9.5 million views..
In addition Macky announced to retire after the current album he is working on. , From the loading album Macky 2 released a smashing single featuring talented music act Flava Boy tagged ‘Mrs me‘.Song is available for download and already gaining street credit .
