Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP) General Manager (GM), Sash Mubanga, has corrected the commonly used phrase of saying ‘Kalandanya Music Promotions is one of the biggest record labels in Zambia’, emphasizing that it is the biggest and not ‘one of.’ Diamond TV presenter, Chimweka Chileshe, was a victim of correction by the KMP GM on his Sunday TV show, On The Table.
During the interview monitored by Dennis M Mwewa of Zed Hype Mag, Sash, belittled the other existing record labels which by default includes Nexus Music, the record label that one of their former key artists, Yo Maps recently joined. The KMP GM explained that the ‘Pick it Up’ hitmaker had completed his contract hence his freedom to do pursue other ventures in his music career.
When asked about what he thinks about Yo Maps’ move to Nexus Music, Sash, responded by saying ‘let him have some fun’.
With regards artists who detached themselves from KMP due to the failure by the label to provide contracts, the GM explained that some of them were put on an affiliate program and just not patient enough while others were not put into consideration for signing.
