Kwacha Music Awards continues to suffer backlash and eve much more ‘Boycott’ from Nominated artistes. The latest to have withdrawn their nominations from this year’s Prestigious “KMA” is “Jay Rox” and “Mampi“. The duo now join Chef 187 who announced his intentions yesterday.
Jay Rox and Mampi announced their withdraw from the awards via their social Media accounts. They further added they might instead take part in Next Year (2019)’s ‘Kwacha Music Awards” if rightful structures are established for the awards. The duo have since advised their fans not to Vote for them.
PUBLIC NOTICE; this is to inform all my fans that it is with regret that I announce to you that iam not taking part in this year's kwacha music awards, maybe next year and only if a proper structure is put in place for the growth of the industry.thanks for the love and support

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: I will not be taking part in the Kwacha awards until we are able to create a proper structure that will help the industry for the better.

In Phone Interview with Power FM’s “Kjay” and “Chuma“, Both artistes cite poor organization and lack of communication exhibited by the Organizers as the Main Reason for their Withdraw. “Jay Rox” also wondered how his album “Outside The Rox 2” was left out of the “Album Of Year” Category but instead an album which has only been out for a Month (Ghetto President) was nominated.
This appears to be exactly the same reason Chef 187 withdrew his nominations. However this move continue to receive mixed feelings among fans and fellow artistes alike. Kaladoshas has since warned fellow artistes about ‘Killing’ another award show and insists they should rather support and ‘advice’.
I hope we don't destroy another Music Award Show. The Kwacha Music Awards are a great initiative,we should just help advise on how to grow it.
