HipHop loyalty and award nominated Emcee “K.R.Y.T.I.C” turned 32 on 9th August, 2019 and the rapper decided to celebrate his birthday in style by dropping a surprise album  “Imiti Ikula” which he loaded online for free download and streaming. The 13 track masterpiece is nothing but a blend of heavy lyricism and charismatic flows as he proves why he deserves the top notch spot as far as Zed HipHop GOATs are concerned.

Despite adding another classic album “Art. Is. Tic to his catalogue few months ago, the Copperbelt boy proves his rhyme book doesn’t ran out of pages. He sounds off the project with a voicenote which emphasizes on Wordplay, double rhymes and metaphors in HipHop which serves as the project Intro tagged “Benny’s Notes”.

K.R.Y.T.I.C delivers his toughest bars embedded with HipHop charisma such as wordplay, metaphors and his ever resounding Poetry on every track as he reflects on his personal growth. He also gives advice to his nephew on “Dear Theodore” which can be regarded as a letter to every male toddler and teenager as they journey into adulthood. He raps about the world view and how young males should treat women among other things on the song (Dear Theodore).

On “Mr. Sharp”, the So Good Entertainments Emcee draws inspiration from the “Slavery Era” and relates it to modern day slavery which can be attributed to so many aspects such as Politics, Police Injustices and the shady music Industry. His energy and vibe is also felt on the entire project for instance on “07 Buzzin” -a much more calm and reflective soundtrack.

If you think my life is easy mehn I dare you to try it,
dare you to drop this verse in this political climate,
Its funny how my fear of heights prolly made me a pilot…” he raps on “07 Buzzing”.

The rapper also ensures he doesn’t drift away from Celebrating his Birthday on the project as he teams up with “Prince Marvel” on “Birthday Boy”. Both label-mates go toe to toe with their lyrical prowess making it another amazing collabo by the duo and KR delivers his ‘Wishes’ on a top fade beat.

Throughout the project, KR teams up with his frequent collaborator “Roc Beats” who produces 80% of the project. Other producers credited on the tape include young producer J-Hun, Katapult, Classic Greg, Othello X Jabari who feed K.R.Y.T.I.C’s big appetite for ‘sick beats’.

Imiti Ikula” is a project about growth well delivered by the lyrical genius and definitely a ‘no skip’ album. It is a timeless masterpiece every HipHop Head needed and for those who are new to the genre, it’s something which will make them fall in love with Zambian HipHop to be precise!
