This year’s Kwacha Music Awards finally took place on the night of 2nd November 2024 at Mulungushi Conference Centre and the event was full of  glamour and surprises. Despite all the big wins by the likes of Chile One and Jemax who walked away with 4 and 3 awards respectively, there were other artistes who couldn’t bag a single trophy like Drimz and Mr. Crown.

This unfortunate turn of events made both Drimz and Mr Crown air out their grievances on social media as they felt they also deserved to win. Drimz aka Bashi Lota was nominated in the categories for Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Mainstream and Best Male Artiste for his hit song “Single”. In his Facebook post, Drimz expressed shock about how he couldn’t win despite having multiple nominations. He blamed his fans for not voting for him despite embracing and dancing to his music.

Mr. Crown on the other hand was nominated in the categories for Best Newcomer (Male), Best Artiste – Southern Province, Best Collaboration and Song of the year for his smash hit “Don’t Go Away” which features Yo Maps. The singer also expressed his disappointment via a Facebook post and promised to come back stronger.
