Zambia’ hit TV Shows, King Bugar and Mpali have scooped awards at this year’s African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards. The award Ceremonies which were held in Lagos, Nigeria saw both TV shows become the first Zambian TV shows to bag awards on such Platform.
King Bugar which is a reality TV starring Mulaza Mark Kaira was nominated for “Best Unscripted Original” and was up against prominent Shows like Come Play Naija, Off Air with Gbemi & Tools, Judging Matter, Rock That Aisle, Sakofa and Kan-See-Me. Mpali on the other hand was nominated for “Best Original Telenovela” beating the likes of Salem, Prestige, Dede, Huba, Convenant, Maida and Itura.
The Zambian Film Industry has been on a steady rise over the past few years especially with the launch of Zambezi Magic TV on Dstv which has provided a platform for local actors to shine. These 2 wins will definitely boost the Industry.
