Rapper, Drifta Trek, who came on the scene with producer Silent Erazer and eventually signed with Alpha Entertainment (Kopala Swag) has opened up about the current state of his relationship with Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP).
Speaking during a Diamond TV interview of On The Table with Chimweka monitored by Zed Hype Mag on Sunday, Drifta Trek explains that the KMP team approached him at a point when the label had a lot of other things going on, but still wanted him on board and enjoy the benefits of the record label. He adds that he was told he would be given a contract in January 2022, but until then he still continues to enjoy the benefits of being affiliated to KMP, which includes music video funding, despite them not getting much from him as an artist.
During the interview, Drifta Trek also explained that after meeting Slapdee and DJ H-Mac, he had an opportunity to be signed under XYZ Entertainments, but couldn’t go for the deal because it required him to consider other producers away from his long time producer, Silent Erazer. This prompted him to go for the Macky 2’s offer under Alpha Entertainment which gave him the liberty to work with a producer of his choice.
On his controversial feud with award winning rapper, Nez Long, Drifta Trek explains that the genesis of their misunderstanding was based on Drifta Trek’s birthday party event where he invited various artists including the late Daev. According to Drifta Trek’s account of events, as he was leaving the venue of the event, he gave some (fuel) money to some artists who came to perform, but without noticing, didn’t give Nez Long any money. It was from that point that Drifta Trek recalls receiving a different vibe from Nez Long and eventually heard his name mentioned in KB’s “My Diary part 8“.
According to Drifta Trek, Nez Long and him are in good terms again.
