PR Girl Media Appoints Miles Sampa As Lusaka July Ambassador

Lusaka Mayor Miles Sampa has been appointed Brand Ambassador for the annual Lusaka July Event held by PR Girl Media. Mr. Sampa officially announced his acceptance of the Brand Ambassadorship role today at a press briefing held at Marlin Polo by PR Girl Media, a local company headed by Ms. Chishimba and Monde Nyambe that highlights the beauty of Zambia through fashion and entertainment. Speaking at the Press Briefing, Mr. Sampa expressed gratitude to have been offered the position, stating that Lusaka July has the potential to put Zambia on the map through the large regional attention It attracts. He stated that the event, since its introduction in 2016 has become a beacon of national pride as it represents the vibrancy of Zambian creativity.

“The Lusaka July has proven to be a vital contribution to the economy, particularly for the creative and hospitality industries” the Lusaka Mayor said. He pledged to play his part in ensuring that the event is a success and an example of the way forward as we continue to embrace the new normal. “It is important that we promote safe social gatherings, therefore i will see to it that this event adheres to all Covid 19 preventive measures, as recommended by the Public Health authorities” he clarified.

Mr. Sampa stated that the Covid 19 Pandemic this year has not been kind to entrepreneurs in the entertainment Industry, and therefore stressed the importance of the general public supporting this event. He expressed pleasure to note PR Girl Media’s confirmation that 10% of the event proceeds will be donated to women and children who have been left vulnerable in result of the pandemic.

Ms. Chishimba Nyambe of PR Girl Media expressed gratitude to the Mayor for coming on board the Lusaka July initiative. Ms. Nyambe said this year’s event has a special element to it as it is the first to be happening following the covid 19 pandemic. She stated the importance of the Council’s presence in the initiative to ensure that all safety measures advised by the Public Health authorities are adhered to at the event. Ms. Nyambe added that last few months of lockdown have dawned on the Zambian entertainment industry and that there is need to awaken the industry for the positive outcome Lusaka July brings to the city.

The City Father added that it is also necessary for Lusaka residents to attend this event due to the decrease in local tourism following the pandemic.“We need to bring some much needed light and color to the city as we continue to fight Covid 19” he said. He urged all corporate entities to come on board and support the event and commended Zambian Breweries for consecutively sponsoring the event in the past years.

Zambian Breweries Head of Marketing Sibajene Munkombwe highlighted that their corporation has a long-lasting relationship with PR Girl Media and have pledged to support the Lusaka July event in 2020 to set an example of safe and responsible socialising amidst covid19. “This will be our first event partnership under the ‘new normal’ and we are committed to setting a standard for events in the future.

The Lusaka July networking event is inspired by the South African Durban July event and attracts over 300 opinion leaders, socialites, celebrities, and corporate figures in an occasion that combines fashion and the sport of Polo.
